An Expression of Interest (EOI) is the profile you submit through it — your points score, visa preferences and occupation — before SkillSelect can invite you to apply. eoidata.com turns SkillSelect data into a live, filterable view of that EOI pool across every visa, state and occupation. These are month-end snapshot counts, not a running tally of events. Submitted means sitting in the pool, not yet invited. Invited means currently holding an invitation. Lodged means the visa application itself has been lodged. Every EOI sits in exactly one of these at any given moment — that's what makes SkillSelect data reliable for tracking movement over time. There's no single number — it depends on your visa, your state, and how competitive the pool is that month, and a state or regional nomination adds bonus points on top of your base score. 189 (Skilled Independent) needs no nomination at all. 190 (State Nominated) requires an active state or territory nomination, which adds bonus points but ties you to living in that state for a period. 491 (Skilled Work Regional) is provisional rather than permanent, needs a state nomination or eligible family sponsorship, and requires living in a designated regional area — a broader definition than it sounds, covering cities like Perth and Adelaide, not just rural towns. Yes — you can lodge separate EOIs across different visas and different states in parallel; SkillSelect tracks each visa/state combination independently. This is also why the numbers can look a little counterintuitive: many people hold several EOIs at once, and when SkillSelect invites one, it often invites several of that person's other tracks in the same round — so Invited counts reflect EOI tracks, not unique people.
