Last updated:
Introduction
eoidata.com is a free, publicly accessible tool for exploring Australian SkillSelect Expression of Interest (EOI) data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and delete personal information when you visit the site or choose to sign in.
Who Operates This Site
eoidata.com is an independent, non-commercial project maintained by one individual. There is no company or registered business entity behind it, and the site is not affiliated with the Australian Government or the Department of Home Affairs. See About eoidata.com for how the site is built and where its data comes from.
Privacy notices, questions and requests may be sent to hello@eoidata.com. Email is the only contact channel — there is no postal address to write to.
Public Access and Optional Accounts
You do not need an account to access eoidata.com's public SkillSelect data and tools. If you choose to sign in, including through Google Sign-In or Google One Tap, eoidata.com creates an account linked to your chosen sign-in method. Google Sign-In is optional, and we never receive your Google password.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the site and which services are enabled, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Google account information — If you use Google Sign-In, Google provides the basic profile information you authorise, such as your name, email address, profile photo, and a unique Google account identifier. We use this information to create and identify your eoidata.com account.
- Account and authentication information — We store an internal user identifier, the sign-in provider linked to your account, account creation and update times, and information needed to maintain and secure your login session. Depending on the authentication flow, this may include authentication tokens and the permissions associated with them.
- Security and technical information — When you use the site or sign in, we may process your IP address, browser and device information, user agent, session identifiers, request timestamps, and security logs to operate the service and prevent abuse.
- Usage analytics — When analytics services are enabled, Google Analytics may process information such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type, and online identifiers to help us understand and improve the site.
- Session analytics — When Microsoft Clarity is enabled, it may record interactions such as clicks, scrolling, and mouse movement. We configure the service to mask or suppress sensitive form content where supported.
- Cookies and similar technologies — We use these technologies to maintain sessions, remember preferences, support security, and, when enabled, provide analytics.
We do not collect payment information, because eoidata.com has no paid features.
How We Use Information
- To create, authenticate, and maintain an account when you choose to sign in.
- To provide account-related features and remember your preferences.
- To operate, secure, troubleshoot, and prevent abuse of the service.
- To understand usage and improve the site when analytics services are enabled.
- To respond to support, privacy, and account-deletion requests.
We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not sell personal information.
Data Sharing
We disclose information only in these limited circumstances:
- Google Sign-In — We exchange the information necessary to complete authentication with Google. Google provides eoidata.com with the profile information you authorise.
- Analytics providers — When enabled, Google processes analytics information through Google Analytics, and Microsoft processes session analytics through Microsoft Clarity.
- Service providers — We may use hosting, database, security, and email providers to operate the service. They may process information only as needed to provide services to us.
- To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
- To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.
Overseas Processing
Our hosting, authentication, analytics, security, and email providers may process information outside Australia, including in the United States and other countries where they or their sub-processors operate. These providers include Cloudflare and, when the relevant feature is enabled, Google and Microsoft. Their handling of information is also governed by their own privacy terms. We take reasonable steps to select and configure providers appropriately, but privacy and data-protection laws may differ between countries.
Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and protected authentication credentials. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Data Retention
We retain account information while your account remains active and for as long as reasonably needed to provide and secure the service. Authentication sessions and temporary verification records expire according to their configured lifetimes. We may retain limited security logs, fraud-prevention records, backups, or records required by law for a reasonable period after an account is deleted. Analytics providers retain data according to their configured retention settings and their own privacy terms.
Your Rights and Account Deletion
You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information associated with your eoidata.com account by contacting hello@eoidata.com from the email address connected to that account. We will verify the request and respond within a reasonable period. When we approve an account deletion request, we delete or de-identify the account, linked sign-in records, and active sessions, except for information we must retain for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or backup integrity.
You can also manage or revoke eoidata.com's access through your Google Account. Revoking Google access stops future Google authentication but does not by itself delete information already held in your eoidata.com account; contact us to request deletion of that information.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights concerning your personal information. Contact us to exercise those rights.
Privacy Complaints
To complain about how we have handled personal information, email hello@eoidata.com with enough detail for us to investigate. We aim to acknowledge complaints within 7 days and provide a substantive response within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response and Australian privacy law applies, you may contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
SkillSelect Data Is Not Personal Data About You
The EOI statistics displayed on eoidata.com are aggregate figures published by the Australian Department of Home Affairs' SkillSelect system. This dataset is presented as aggregate statistics and is not intended to identify individual visa applicants. It is separate from the account and visitor information described above. See our Disclaimer for details on the data source.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will note changes by updating the date at the top of this page. If a material change affects how we use Google user data, we will provide appropriate notice and request consent where required before using that data for a new purpose.
